This number from Yuvan aided by the voice from Renu is a very good opening for the album. What could be a fusion of instruments with the flow of words in an alienated verses proves a nice scourge of entertainment. It is often said, like his father, Yuvan too prefers simple verses which should be legible for every listeners. So this number takes the pinch of easy rendition and quick absorption. Yuvan has done a marvel by fusing the highly redeemable instrumentation. Renu too is not inferior as the ordination of voices is an exquisite proportion. The folklore of the song is elevated by short scribbles of Na.Muthulumar. lines like Vallayadi vallai enna vazha vaiyyu naalai, Ye vidu kadha venaam ne vidum kadhai venaam Un poo potta paavaada podhum ennaku , Adhil velli vizha padam kaata aasai iruku are ample proof for semblance to the real folk. Perhaps, Yuvan might have planned in advance to render his own voice for this song. Thus he justified, or maintained, the practice that his voice in every movie album is sure hit

02 - Thaiya Thakka Thakka

Singers: Harini, Saindhavi

Lyricist: Na.Muthukumar

This time the mood is upbeat for the joy and lap tap to the core. The tune is very unique for Yuvan and especially the second stanza. Of course, the tune and the orchestration may sound different but the origin seems some relation to that song. For whatever reason allied to this number, Yuvan takes the credit for bringing out that sort of real charm. Na.Muthukumar is once again personifies the characters of the situation. An ideal song from Yuvan for the lure of Lingusamy’s visuals. Harini, Saindhavi do their best by clear audition of the lyrics. We can pat Yuvan for the second best attempt.

03 - Dham Dham Dham Dham

Singers: Karthik, Krish

Lyricist: Na.Muthukumar

Much akin to the voice duo of the best numbers so far, Yuvan has combined these two voices – Karthik and Krish. The song takes us to the party mood as well the joy of sharing. In fact, the real fight between Karthik and Krish has enforced a very good number for us the listeners. Lyricist Na.Muthukumar has given a hoppy effect for this number to cheer us. Karthik does justification for inserting his rendition in a mellifluous manner. His penchant for high pitch is devoutly balanced by Yuvan here. Krish is too frivolous to take up this number as he is benevolent with his rendition. A fast paced number, perhaps the best choice for the ensuing New Year gathering.

04 - Kattipudi Yenna

Singers: Vijay Prakash, Swetha Pandit

Lyricist: Na.Muthukumar

Tamil music industry is always predominated by the voices from outside the land. This is the heritage from the very old voices of KJ Jesudoss, SPB, Janaki, P Suseela, Vaani Jeyaram, Chitra et al. This tradition continues till now and there is no wonder with those voices. Mumbai based Vijay Prakash is known for his complex voice modulation. His rendition in Vinnaithandi Varuvaya for Ye Ithayam is one type while the same voice for Ohm Sivogam for Naan Kadavul is another sedition. Hence this number addresses to the entire mass of acute listeners. But what is amazing is the exactness from the other non-native voice, Shwetha Pandit. Above all these wonders, it is the rendition of this classy number of folklore. Muthukumar’s lyrics add more penchant for pseudo-literary taste. Especially the lines of the first stanza the aathi part has the -di- effect, as Kattipidi, roja sedi, vittu pidi, thotu pidi, vettai adi, neeyadi, thudithen adi, anaithen adi, mullai kodi, ulloora kallooruthe display sheer native tongues. Yuvan is exemplary in managing the verses for his tune in this number. This number may reach a segment of playful listeners.

05 - Damma Damma Dammaa Dammaa

Singers: Haricharan, Swetha Mohan

Lyricist: Na.Muthukumar

Yet again Yuvan turns into a rock and roll tune for the sake of footlaps from the crux of youth. It is highly invocative as the song has all that young hearts would long for. Na.Muthukumar’s lyrics have once again flew into the air with chirps of select verses. For every album, Yuvan does a fine knack of employing Haricharan and it gets instant hit. This number is special for Haricharan as there is lot of scope for him to shine. Though major numbers from Paiya were dominated by Haricharan, in this album he has the prime number under his head. Swetha Menon is ideally paired for this song and her rendition needs a special mention. Yuvan’s care for rooting the demands of youth and kindling their heart is back to the score.

Verdict

Yuvan is taking the guard to do the very hunt for this Vettai album. The result is a huge haul of accolades for his orchestration. These five numbers can be on par five fingers and the first rendition by Yuvan-Renuka for Papparappa is the raised thumb! Thaiya thakka is the index finger which points us for the challenge. Kattipidi is the middle finger which tops among the other. Dhum Dhum is the ring finger which deserves golden pat.
